From 2nd to 4th February 2015 I attended the press tour for journalists International VIP, at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. The tour was organized by Stockholmsmässan in cooperation with Stockholm Visitors Board and by the Swedish Institute.

Marilena Puppi, owner of OGS agency and Stockholmsmässan official representative for Italy, accompanied me along with two other Italian colleagues.

Arriving in Stockholm, we united to fellow journalists coming from various European countries. The tour included a visit to the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, where I could visit the various stands freely and I attended the press conference.

My impression was very positive. The Press welcome was perfect and the conference presentation very interesting. Cecilia Nyberg, Mattias Stemberg and Ilse Cawford have introduced the concept of the fair and the news that we would find.

The Press Office, very welcoming, was perfectly equipped. I found the general layout rational and the whole fair bright, spacious; well-connected pavilions and possibility of stops and refreshments.

The stands were well separated and I found an optimal illumination to see the various products on display. In each pavilion I discovered really interesting proposals, typically linked to the Swedish Nordic tradition: a very clean design, rational, sustainable, combined with imagination, research and exploration of forms.

Among these: SWEDESE, JOHANSON, WILKHAHN, KVADRAT, VITRA, KriskaDECOR.

I was struck by the high participation of companies of furniture and accessories for the little ones, a sign of great attention and consideration of the Swedish population towards the family and children.

I was pleased to note the presence of Italian exhibitors, some already included in the Swedish commercial reality, such PEDRALI and others eager to enter.

Very interesting was the section dedicated to young designers. In the lights section, I have seen very beautiful proposals: luminaires very light, similar to natural elements, sometimes in very light material, or even to be assembled after the purchase, with savings on the volume of the packaging and transport, for example, VITA , BY RYDENS products. Or huge lighting with purest lines, intended volumes light to live, as the lamps by WASTBERG.
