The Scent of Excellence is an event that always I participate with great interest and attention: the art and creativity are expressed in their olfactory dimension, but also in the packaging of bottles masterpieces of design and preciousness. Every year arrive in Milan the protagonists of the Artistic Perfumery from every continent.
Esxence is the world of fragrances, a world of fantasy, dream, because people can grasp and visualize olfactory experience, feelings and memories absolutely personal, evocative and promising.
The olfactory experience goes, however, coached and conquered. Not enough to smell a perfume: to be able to experience the real sense of a fragrance, it is necessary to grasp the succession of notes, from the head to the heart, to the tail. It must perceive the dominant, what the fragrance wants to express and the allure with which wants to wrap those who decide to wear it. Yes, because a fragrance is like a garment, with which you must feel well. A perfume is not designed to "leave the trail" to inebiate those around us.
A perfume is made for oneself, as an extension of the senses and inner self, ever changing in time, in place, in state of mind.
It 'a world that fascinates me on each passing day, while my sense of smell has aged slowly and learn the roots of an ancient art.
The exhibitors brands, the most significant excellence in artistic perfume, come from 17 countries (Italy, France, UK, Spain, Germany, USA, UAE, Netherlands, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Norway, Morocco, Denmark, Ireland, Turkey, Qatar).
As I slowly wander among the various master perfumers, I try to capture the essence of each brand, understand the concept, the development, the type of customers to whom it is intended.
I shun the excessive and forced luxury and the essences lacking an identity and a story. Given how I fully dedicate myself to listening and experimenting, “to take all the time I need”, I’m unable to visit each stand.
Listening to the stories, emotions, memories, dreams. I listen to people who open their hearts, they try to share the emotion that has led them to create a perfume, a breath of the soul.
And thus, every time, it is a new experience, like staring at the world with different eyes. Precisely for this my typical experimental attitude, desire of listening and “take as long as necessary," I can never visit all the stands.
Every year I select new brands , and I always gladly return to visit old friends whose new fragrances I know will amaze me. Allow me to introduce them.
