" Baroque Gold" is a store of artistic creations all of our products that combine the beauty of hand-painted ceramics and lava from Etna wisely joined by the skilled hands of our designer Marinella Stornello" .

These are the words with which they welcomed me in the stand BaroccOro HOMI latest edition of Milan.Wandering among the various exhibitors , I drew attention to the collection proposed by them : necklaces, earrings and bracelets made with lemons , pomegranates , prickly pears , playing cards , vases, all made ​​of ceramic.

The connection with Sicily was immediate : both themes proposed that the materials were typically Sicilian .It ' a dream come true to Marinella Stornello , which has reinvented itself by giving free rein to his passion for creating handmade jewelry.

And I speak not only of ceramic components , forged and hand painted using the technique of Caltagirone, but also a very special component : the volcanic lava of Etna.

Looking good the "pearls " red , black and green , you will immediately notice a particular texture, porosity and roughness out of the ordinary .

In fact, as I then explained the designer, Mariella Stornello, volcanic lava of Mount Etna is shattered and reconstructed with the help of resins, thus assuming the shapes and colors desired.

The jewelry is made ​​by assembling so many different materials: ceramic, lava stones, all linked to elements in silver gilt. The result is very interesting, especially new , placing itself outside of the lines and traditional forms of classical jewelry .

I forgot: I could not resist and I left the stand after buying a necklace ! !
