Scent of Eastern Juniper

The intent was to combine technical skills, design elements and modern and traditional materials; all within a single project bathroom. The result should be a luxurious but discreet luxury, exclusivity understood as elements of craftsmanship and materials used. The experiment was a complete success: we got a space for holistic nature, a set of different parts coming together and relate to each other, forming a whole on a human scale. What strikes us immediately is the use of natural materials such as wood and glass, with the inclusion of a contrasting modern elements are emphasized and valued. This local, rectangular in shape, has a pitched ceiling with a minimum height of 3.10 meters and a maximum of 4.70 metri. The designer cleverly took advantage of this difference in height and was able to resolve it so far trivial.

First, the floor planks of larch brushed natural, it is the first item that are in contact with the skin: walking barefoot on the wood unpolished is already a wonderful feeling of naturalness. The larch, in fact, is a resinous wood, known and appreciated since ancient times for its quality of robustness. The walls were dissected at different heights, creating bands of four different materials, which become one but at the same time mark the various functions. The first band is in glass mosaic, in a brown shade, a warm color that reminds us of wood and has the function of sealing the part in contact with the health services.

Above the mosaic , a wing mirror runs along the entire perimeter of the bath , giving breadth and brightness to the room and creating , at the same time , games of images bounce .Higher up, on the one hand to painting ends with a wooden base . From this level , the perimeter walls of different heights and ceiling are completely covered in natural fir wood .This game combined with the uniformity of the material of the upper part of the walls and ceiling , creates a warm and enveloping effect , a continuation of the whole environment , an effect "Nordic" like the inside of a sauna.Non lack modern touches and design , such as the health and lighting. But everything we've looked at so far , is basically a container for a "piece" really important, that unmistakably characterizes the environment and captures the attention : the tub.It 's the first thing that you notice upon entering the bathroom and starting from it we realize that everything revolves around it , in a harmonious way . Here again the holistic concept of the project: the larch floor , such as the washbasin , the ceiling and the walls in pine, perfect dialogue .

The tank is manufactured from Italko, a company that offers bathtubs and washbasins in precious woods, suitable for the production of exclusive models. It has features unique in its kind : it is entirely handcrafted in eastern juniper wood ( Chamaecyparis obtusa ), aromatic wood healing light in color, national treasure. The bathtub is completely made by hand, with a system that was used in ancient times in the East, without the use of nails. The juniper wood is a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect. According to the practice of traditional Chinese medicine, is a conservative heat , and has a curative effect against colds and stimulates blood circulation .To this can be used as a treatment against rheumatoid arthritis, urticaria. This timber also contains a high amount of pythoncidere , an antioxidant substance that is released during the bath and that can be absorbed through the pores of the skin. With the constant use of this fine tank, takes rapid elimination of all harmful chemicals and the human body.

This produces a calming effect by reducing mental stress , eliminating fatigue and helping the mind to relax .
